Intellectual property refers to intangible objects like ideas, inventions, works of art etc that an individual or a group owns. Intellectual property is indivisible. This means it will not be depleted if used by more people. So if one person reads about an idea or invention, any number of other people can read or understand the same without the idea or invention losing its value.
The UAE has rules and regulations in place to protect intellectual property through trademarks, copyright and patents. Protection of intellectual property is imperative as it acknowledges the efforts taken by the creator to produce that work and also to encourage more such efforts towards more artwork and innovations.
